Moving Forward for a Change: Orchards Box and the Journey of Fresh Apples

August 20, 2025

A New Beginning in the Hills

Every season in Himachal brings new challenges, but also new hopes. This apple season, we at Orchards Box didn’t just begin another harvest — we began a journey of change. A change in how apples are picked, packed, and delivered. A change that removes middlemen, and connects farmers directly with families across India.

In our very first 10 days, we delivered 200 boxes of farm-fresh apples, a milestone that tested our grit and commitment. But behind these numbers lies a story of rain, landslides, blocked roads, and sleepless nights in the orchards.

🍎 Through Landslides and Heavy Rains

Nature tested us right from the start. Continuous rainfall soaked the orchards, made slopes slippery, and slowed down harvesting. Landslides blocked the roads we depend on to move produce. Trucks were delayed. Labor was short. Yet, our determination was stronger.

Instead of waiting for the weather to improve or roads to clear, we harvested the apples ourselves. Every apple in those first 200 boxes was handpicked by our own team and farmers, packed carefully to protect it from the rough journey down the hills.

🌿 More Than Deliveries, These Were Promises

Each box that reached a doorstep in Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bangalore, or beyond carried more than just apples. It carried the trust of a farmer who worked through rain. It carried the resilience of a community that didn’t give up when the roads were blocked.

For our customers, it wasn’t just about apples — it was about being part of a change. A change where freshness isn’t compromised, farmers aren’t ignored, and every bite tastes like the orchard it came from.

🚚 Moving Forward for a Change

This milestone gave us clarity. We don’t want to just sell fruit. We want to change the way people think about apples. Supermarket shelves may look shiny, but they hide the truth of cold storage, wax coating, and middlemen-driven prices.

Orchards Box is here to do it differently:

Harvesting happens after your order.

Apples are packed fresh, not stored.

Prices go directly to farmers, not middlemen.

Every customer knows exactly where their apples come from.

This is the change we are moving forward with — and we’re inviting you to be part of it.

💪 Challenges That Shaped Us

Landslides and Roadblocks: Our logistics were disrupted daily, but we found alternate routes and stayed on track.

Continuous Rain: Fields were slippery and risky, yet we carried crates on our backs to ensure freshness.

Labor Shortage: With fewer helping hands, the Orchards Box team became harvesters, loaders, and delivery planners.

Every obstacle became a lesson. Every delay became motivation. And every successful delivery became proof that we could rise above the odds.

❤️ Gratitude for the First 200

To every customer who placed an order in those first 10 days — thank you. You didn’t just order apples. You supported farmers. You supported a dream to bring authenticity back to the fruit market. You gave us strength to keep going.

🌟 What’s Next?

The season has just begun. We’re scaling up so more families can enjoy orchard-fresh apples. New varieties will be harvested in the coming weeks. Gift boxes will soon be available. And our focus will remain on moving forward for a change — one box at a time.

✨ Final Bite

Orchards Box isn’t just a brand. It’s a promise. A promise that even when roads are blocked and rains don’t stop, your apples will still find their way from the hills of Shimla and Kinnaur to your home — fresh, pure, and full of stories.

Because at the heart of every apple is not just taste, but trust.

Moving forward for a change. Moving forward together.
